Dear Parents,
It has been a busy week of fun and many outdoor activities for Earth Week. On Monday, we cooked several Greek recipes including spanikopita bites, pita bread with tzatziki sauce, vegetable kabobs, hummus, and salad. Many thanks to the parents who volunteered their time and/or donated ingredients for our cooking day. We did some work in the garden this week, clearing the withered vegetation to make room for new growth. We filled several bags with trash from the soccer field and the surrounding area on Tuesday. We also enjoyed a visit from the Wildlife Discovery Center on Tuesday and saw several snakes, a variety of other reptiles, and even a screech owl. On Thursday, we took a bike trip to Independence Grove for a picnic lunch and some time on the playground. A big thank you to the parents who accompanied us on our bike trip. Before Earth Week closing ceremonies this afternoon, we went on a scavenger hunt and this afternoon we pulled mustard grass along the trail.
PARCC testing resumes on Monday. We will have our last ELA test from 8:10 – 9:40 on Monday morning and our last math test on Tuesday from 8:10 – 9:10. On Wednesday we will enjoy another meal together at Farm to Table.
