Although the temperature may be dropping, the energy and enthusiasm in our classroom continues to rise! We have been working hard to piece together the cultural artifacts we excavated from Ms. Stefan’s class. Sharing ideas within small committees, the students have been writing detailed reports on their findings and inferences. We’ve also been working on how to write a proper email with clear, concise language. Not only is this good writing practice, it also reinforces digital citizenship, encouraging the students to use email appropriately.
In Language Arts, we are excited to begin a culminating project in our Literature Circles. In conjunction with what we’ve learned about artifacts in Social Studies, the students will choose 10 items that represent both physical and personality traits of a character from the book they read. Using creativity and critical thinking skills will be essential as students examine the dynamic characters they have read about.
Many parent volunteers have been hard at work organizing the PCCS Clothing Sale. We hope you can stop by the gym on Friday from 8:00 – 3:00 or Saturday from 8:00 – 3:00 to do some shopping. A coupon for a free item was sent home in your child’s assignment notebook on Wednesday.
Enjoy National Taco Day on Sunday, October 4th and have a good week-end!
