A little bit of sunshine this week has made PCCS an even brighter place to be! We enjoyed another amazing Farm to Table with the guest chef from O’Tooles. The turkey sandwich and black bean soup got rave reviews from the students in our room!
In ELA this week, we continued our celebration of Black History Month with a short biography of Thurgood Marshall. Working in pairs, the class read the biography to complete a crossword puzzle about this important African American justice. We also started a new vocabulary unit using context clues to decipher word meanings. And our Word Study continues each week with a new list of spelling words. As your child learns these words, please ask that they pay special attention to what each word means. Their spelling tests always include writing five original sentences that show meaning and understanding.
We are very excited about our upcoming trip to the Milwaukee Public Museum on Wednesday, March 9th. The visit will be a nice complement to our social studies curriculum as well as other units of study. Please remember to send in the field trip permission form and fee by February 23rd. Thank you!
