Welcome back! It was so nice to see everyone rested, recharged, and ready to begin a busy week in our classroom. We began the week with our January Green Challenge assembly where we talked about the many ways we can reduce our paper use both at school and at home. In an effort to use less paper in our classroom, we will rely more on our Chromebooks and Google Classroom for class and homework assignments. Please help you child remember to bring a charged Chromebook to school each day.
In ELA, we looked at the artwork and poetry of Charley Harper, an artist who was inspired by images in our natural world. After studying the artistic and literary elements he used, we will create some of our own original works, culminating with our own PCCS 5th and 6th grade art show in February! In social studies, we will continue our study of Ancient civilizations in Mesopotamia. If you haven’t seen their projects at home, be sure to ask your students about the tribe, village, and city state tasks they are working on this week.
We are currently collecting Box Tops for Education to support a school wide campaign led by the Girl Scouts at PCCS. Please be sure to send in any box tops you may have at home. They are surprisingly found on a wide variety of grocery items. Thank you!
