Today we had Ms. Meyer join our class for a Friendship/Chromebook Communication discussion. In the single week since distributing the Chromebooks, I had several students come to me and say that they were receiving unwanted emails from peers. As a way to set guidelines, our students came up with the following simple rules for emailing with their Chromebooks:
1) Limit of 5 emojis, must all appropriate.
2) Limit of 2 emails, if no answer then have a conversation in person.
3) Only send pictures if appropriate: you must ask first and the person must agree to wanting to see a picture.
Please partner with us by discussing appropriate Chromebook communication with your child, at home. The Chromebooks are great resources for all of our students, and should be used to communicate with peers mainly for academic purposes.
