Today we were able to visit Rollins Savanna and go on a bird walk with some friends from the Audubon Society of Lake County. We went with Ms. Johnson’s class and met Mr. Troy and some other volunteers from the Audubon Society, and went on a walk around the lake…well…a little bit of the lake. 🙂
We were able to see many different birds on this walk. When we did this around the school campus,we found more robins than anything. This time, we found more red-winged blackbirds than anything else. We were also able to see a few birds we have never seen before like bobolinks, blue-winged teals and a mute swan. Make sure to ask your students what they saw on this trip!
