I hope this email finds you well and enjoying the last few hours of a relaxing Spring Break! We are excited to re-connect with your students tomorrow and hear how they spent their week off of school!
The Friday before break we had a fun morning making music with the Benkadi drumming instructor and Mrs. Neil/ Mr. Stewart’s class took a trip to the farm to do some greenhouse work. We planted several flats of purple coneflower and other plants that will facilitate our exploration of pollinator gardening with the farm educators, Eric and Shannon. Please see the videos and pictures below from both of these events. We also enjoyed our Spring Break party on Friday afternoon. Thank you to all the parents – both at the party and behind the scenes – who made this celebration possible!
In ELA this week we will continue our Literature Circles (we are now on Session 5) and use poetry to study figurative language. Spelling tests on Tuesday will be given to Prodigies, SBSN Spellers, Teletubbies, Puppies, and Tacocats.
In social studies, we will have our unit test on United States geography this week. Students will be given a study guide as we review on Monday and Tuesday for our test on Wednesday. This test will be a multiple choice format of 20 questions that will cover all five regions – including states, capitals, bodies of water, and major landforms – of the United States.
If you missed our camping informational meeting earlier this month, please use the links below for important information. We would appreciate it if you could return all necessary paperwork for the trip as soon as possible. Thank you!
