A Short, but Busy Week

We hope you are enjoying a bit of relaxation over this three day week-end. We have a busy week ahead with lots to fit into four days! Tomorrow is our science quiz on Eclipses and Lunar phases. Please remind your students to look over their ISN notes to prepare. After this unit, we will move on to the Scientific Method and try our first experiment in science. In ELA we will begin building some background knowledge and start reading Esperanza Rising by Pam Munoz Ryan. We will post links on our webpage to an audio version of the text which some students found helpful in the past.

Last week we met with Mrs. Flaig to discuss our location for Solo Spots. It was great to hear so much excitement from the class as we thought about the many beautiful settings Prairie Crossing offers for quiet reflection. This Friday we will take a Solo Spot tour, enabling us to reach a class consensus on an ideal place.

We’re happy to say that our first Marketplace was a big success. We hope your child enjoyed buying and/or selling throughout the 5/6 gradeband. If you have any questions about Marketplace or our Classroom Economy, please let us know. Our next Marketplace day is scheduled for September 29th.

And finally, several of you have asked about PE uniforms. Attached is a letter from the PE teacher, Chris Loustaunau. I hope that answers any questions you may have.
