Good afternoon,
It has been an exciting week back from break: we welcomed Mrs. Albert to the community, students turned in part one of their dystopia unit closure, camping forms went home (please return by the 17th), and everyone began work on their masks for Wax Museum (date TBD, in April). At this time, we are also excited to announce some Earth Week plans:
-
A field trip for ⅚ students to the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum in Chicago, Illinois on Monday, April 22nd.
-
A ⅚ Greek cooking day on Wednesday, April 24th. Please click here to donate or volunteer.
-
A potential prairie burn during Earth Week (date TBD) . Click here to provide your child permission to help, should the opportunity arise.
Regarding the Peggy Notebaert field trip, depending on time we may also take a walk across the street to visit the Lincoln Park Zoo. We will leave PCCS by bus at 9:00 a.m. and return to the school by approximately 3:00 p.m. During this experience, students will attend an educational class led by museum staff that links to current grade-level studies in science. Also, students will have the opportunity to explore the butterfly house, plus exhibits on rivers and “Green” homes.
Thank you and have a great weekend!
-Ms. Turner & Mrs. Albert
