In ELA, we are entering our second week reading about a dystopian society in our Literature Circle books. The assigned reading is due Wednesday this week. Along with completing the reading, students are to add short notes into their Word Study Notebook about the main plot points that have occurred in the specific assignment, and any connections they may have made/vocabulary they found interesting/questions they may have.

Last week, students selected a non-fiction book to read, in relation to themes featured in their literature circle book. Ask you child what non-fiction topic they are reading about (pollution, habitat preservation, energy resources, etc).
The assessment for these literature circles will be a series of projects. For more information about the options available, click here. These will be introduced to students later in the week.
