Francine Porembski is thrilled to be working at Prairie Crossing Charter School. She first attended The University of Dayton in Dayton, OH, where she majored in Elementary Education and then Communications. While there, she worked as a teacher’s aide at the Children’s Center for Young Learners. Francine graduated from Columbia College with a degree in Marketing. She was a computer/remedial teacher at St. Gregory Northside Catholic Academy in Chicago, a reading group assistant volunteer at St. Gilbert Catholic School in Grayslake, and also a part-time assistant librarian at Viking Middle School in Gurnee.
In 2016, Francine and her sister, Margie, took a Viking River Cruise on the Rhine River from Basel, Switzerland to Amsterdam, Netherlands. They passed through Strasbourg, France and Cologne, Germany. The highlight of this trip was touring both the Anne Frank House and the Van Gogh Museum. Family and friends are very important to Francine and she loves spending time with them.
One of her favorite quotes is “to wishes that come true,” from the TV show “The Twilight Zone”. Her favorite book is Out of the Dust by Karen Hesse.
