Ms. Kontomichalos

Grade: 6th Grade Room: 22 Position: Instructional Assistant

Tammi Kontomichalos joined the PCCS family in 2025 as a 6th grade Instructional Assistant. Her background is in Business Administration, but her passion for education led her to begin pursuing her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. She has worked with students teaching environmental education focusing on encouraging students to engage with their surroundings, ask questions, and develop a sense of stewardship for the environment. She is also a registered volunteer with the McHenry County Conservation District participating in various ways including restoration and phenology research. Tammi is particularly excited to contribute to the innovative educational experience at PCCS. She embraces opportunities to integrate environmental themes into the curriculum, helping students see the interconnections between the core educational disciplines and the natural world. She uses a hands-on approach, believing active learning encourages curiosity and promotes lifelong learning.
