Linda Becker joined the Prairie Crossing Charter School family in August 2021 as she started her new career in the field of education. Linda retired in June 2021 after serving as a Chicago Police Officer for 26 years. Linda obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from Northeastern Illinois University (NEIU) in 2014, and a Master of Arts degree in Literacy Education from NEIU in 2017. Linda was drawn to PCCS because of the importance placed on such things as the environment, sustainability, and community, as well as the numerous opportunities for student’s hands-on experiences and innovation. She feels there is no better place for her to start this next exciting chapter of her life.
Linda enjoys walks in the local forest preserves, gardening, caring for her houseplants, spending time with her dog and cat, and reading. She hopes to help nurture a reverence for nature and strives to instill confidence and perseverance in her students. One of her favorite quotes is from Theodore Roosevelt, “Believe you can and you’re halfway there.”
