Mrs. Owen holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Northeastern University and earned a Master’s of Arts in Teaching from National-Louis University. She has taught at the grade school and high school levels. She moved to Lake county from Chicago in 2017 and enjoys spending more time outside among nature. She enjoys travelling with her husband and five children (ages 2-12). Her plan is to continue to travel the world, but her favorite place will always be Guatemala. It is the country from where she adopted her son and it holds special memories for her.
Her children are the reason she gets out of bed each morning, both literally and figuratively. Her late father will forever be her role model. She loves to read realistic fiction, but has become more open to reading other genres based on what her students recommend. She is very excited to be a part of PCCS and is thrilled to have a 3 minute commute to and from work.
