Thomas West
Thomas began his career in corporate finance but quit to pursue teaching after volunteering at a CPS school. He is passionate about the Great Lakes and hopes to protect them in his own small way. Coffee gets him out of bed each morning, and stodgy old books put him to bed at night. His favorite quotation is “There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than can be dreamt of in your philosophy,” from Hamlet. Or “above all things, to thine own self be true.” Also from Hamlet. His favorite book as a child was “The Voyages of Doctor Dolittle,” because it presented a wide world full of adventure, but he also had many formative experiences at Hogwarts, where he was a Ravenclaw. To Kill A Mockingbird is his favorite book of all time.
