Jena Mertz
Position: Receptionist
Mrs. Mertz was a PCCS parent for 13 years before joining the admin team. She has seen the long-term benefits of the PCCS education and is excited to now be part of that educational movement.
Growing up Jena spent a lot of time in nature. Camping, hiking, and gardening were–and still are–some of her favorite outdoor activities. She is also a reader and enjoys crafting.
After graduating from Eastern Illinois with a BA in Theatre and English (Medieval Literature focus), she worked in corporate benefits administration. Taking time to be a stay-at-home mom while her children were little, she returned to the work force as an administrator for a non-profit arts and music center for 10 years before joining PCCS. She is an active volunteer for Scouting America and Girl Scouts.
Jena enjoys spending her free time with her children, her husband, and all their pets (dog, chickens, frogs and crab). And she loves epic road trips (ask about her roadside attraction pictures!).
Her favorite childhood books are the Little House series by Laura Ingalls Wilder.
A fun fact–Jena has 23 first cousins.
