Mrs. Furlong

Position: Instructional Assistant

Mrs. Furlong started at PCCS in 2018 as an Instructional Assistant. She was drawn to PCCS because of its emphasis on the environment. She believes that taking care of our earth’s resources is essential for our future. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from Bradley University and most recently an ELL endorsement from CLC in 2017. She began her teaching career as a third and fourth grade teacher. After staying home to raise her three children, she returned to teaching as a Pre-Kindergarten teacher, fourth grade teacher, and a substitute teacher. She likes to take advantage of all the fantastic forest preserves in the area. Since when her children were little, they would pack up all five bikes and bike the trails. She runs, walks, and bikes various trails these days. An interesting thing people might not know about Mrs. Furlong is that she grew up speaking Italian. Her favorite quote is, “You must be the change you wish to see in the world”.
