Greetings all,
This week:
-
In ELA: students will be wrapping up our Dystopia unit next week with a two-part assignment before we move into our mini-unit for National Poetry Month in April. Students seemed to really enjoy the Dystopian genre! Let me know if they are interested in checking out any of the other novels.
-
In Social Studies: students learned about Egyptian social classes this week, as well as Ancient Egyptian mythology. Next week, we will wrap up learning about the gods/goddesses before the final unit project will be introduced. Students will have several days in class to work on the project before it is due.
-
In Science: we spent half of the week reviewing the hydrological (water) cycle and how it relates to our Ocean unit. Additionally, we began to understand ocean currents with a little help from Finding Nemo and a lab demonstration by Mrs. Wright.
-
In Math: the Cacti continue to develop their knowledge of geometric shapes, including nets and surface area. They also briefly tried to problem solve table arrangements for social distancing during Phase 4C. It was fun to see their creativity with a real life situation. The Poodles are translating division on expressions from words to numbers/variables and vice versa.
