Hello families,
December is always a busy month, and it certainly showed to be busy this week at school! In ELA, students finished their biography report, completed another Paired Passage, and are continuing their bi-monthly Current Events assignments. To go along with their biography report, students should be working on a presentation (using their choice of the following):
Next week, students will be starting a non-fiction National Geographic series called World Issues. This text will take us up to winter break.
In Social Studies, students took a try at city planning by designing the layout for an ancient city (including a palace, city walls, and roads connecting all buildings). In our specials, we continued preparing for the upcoming Winter Sing (Music), played more basketball (P.E.), and worked on the verb “gustar” – which means “to like” (Spanish).
Would your child like a pet over winter break? We are looking for someone to care for our class box turtle, Hershey. She is very low-key, and will come with everything that she needs. Linked is a document with simple instructions on how to take care of Hershey. Talk it over at home and if you are interested, please let me know.
