Sixth Grade Gazette 3/24/17

Greetings Families,

Students did a great job in class this week while I was away. I appreciate their hard-work and dedication to learning.

This week’s email contains a lot of essential information regarding events in April and May. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns about the following:

After spring break, students will begin PARCC testing. Please help your child be prepared for success by getting a good night’s sleep and healthy breakfast. All testing will begin at 8:10 each morning, so arriving to school on time is also paramount. Below is the schedule of 6th grade PARCC testing.

Wed April 5th: 6th grade ELA 1
Thurs April 6th: 6th grade ELA 2
Fri April 7th: 6th grade ELA 3
Mon April 10th: 6th grade Math 1
Tues April 11th: 6th grade Math 2
Wed April 12th: 6th grade Math 3
Thank you all for your patience and support while we have begun the process of planning for both Earth Week and the camping trip. Also, thank you to the many volunteers who are making these trips possible! With all of the paperwork flying around, here are digital copies to anything you may need:
Lastly, while there is no formal homework over spring break, it is my hope that students are thinking about our Taste of the World event (in social studies) coming up in April. Please ask your child what country they will be reporting on and help support their recipe-making to maximize their success. Here is the checklist for the event and here is the guide to part 1 – the written report. When students have selected their recipe, they may submit it via the form here.
Thank you for your time. Have a lovely spring break!
