A Little Bit of R and R

We hope you’ve been able to catch up on some rest and relaxation over this long week-end. With our crazy schedules, sometimes it’s nice to stop and catch our breath every once in a while! Now we are looking forward to a short, but exciting, week!! Wednesday is an Early Release day, Thursday afternoon is our visit from the staff at Robert Crown, and Friday marks the end of the 2nd trimester.

In ELA this week we will be working on our Literature Circle projects. At this point, everyone should have finished their books, and we all chose two projects to work on independently this week. These projects will most likely be due next Monday or Tuesday. In science, we will continue our Earth science unit, The Reasons for the Seasons, as we learn about the Earth’s tilt, latitude and longitude, solstices and equinoxes, and time zones.

If you have not sent in your child’s reading form for Six Flags, please do so before Friday. Six hours of independent reading earns a free ticket to the theme park this summer, so be sure to take advantage of this opportunity!

Many thanks to those parents who helped with our Valentine’s Party. It was a sweeeet afternoon, and the students had a lot of fun. If you have the time and you would like to volunteer for Writer’s Workshop on Monday, Thursday, or Friday, please let us know. That is another great way to partner with us in the classroom!
