Volunteer at PCCS

"The true meaning of life is to plant trees,
under whose shade you do not expect to sit."

~ Nelson Henderson

Prairie Crossing Charter School encourages the participation of
the entire family in the education process and emphasizes
the importance of a pledge to life-long learning. The parental
role in achieving the Prairie Crossing Charter School vision is
critical, and we are very grateful to the many volunteers who
help our school to succeed every day.

Volunteerism and financial contributions are not requirements
for enrolling in or remaining at Prairie Crossing Charter
School. For more information, please read our Volunteer Policy.

All volunteers at Prairie Crossing Charter School must
complete the attached Information Form.
Thank you for
your cooperation!

In April, there were several nominations for volunteers who worked tirelessly over the last month to support the school. Our nominees were Lynn Arce, Reena Bagri, Katy Barnett, Kelly Smith, Tera Tatyrza, Laura Fay, Tricia Fullerton, Dawn Gehring, Allie Gilbert, Tracy Goldberg, Michelle Helle, Michelle Illian, Melonie Johnson, Jill Kosikowski, Laura Luoma, Sallie Mehrtens, Nicole Pifer, Melissa Ritter, Colleen Russ, Maria Sanborn, Janette Siegel, Elizabeth Stearns, Patti Stenzel, Jo Walsh, and Julie Zipperer.

Our April Volunteers of the Month are Bob and Cathy Liginski. Mr. and Mrs. Liginski worked with Mrs. McGovern and the Learning Farm to develop a presentation at the Chicago Botanic Gardens this summer. The presentation required video and still photos and they spent an afternoon with Mrs. McGovern and Farmer Sharon at the farm. Bob will then be editing the video so we can get the best of PCCS and PC farm in this presentation. Thank you to Mr. and Mrs. Liginski and thanks to all of our volunteers; every effort you make to support the school is felt by staff and students alike.

The Staff and Administration of Prairie Crossing Charter School would like to reiterate that volunteerism and financial contributions are not requirements for enrolling in or remaining at Prairie Crossing Charter School.  Please review the school's volunteer policy.

Prairie Crossing Charter School is a public school that transforms our children through academic discovery and interaction with our unique natural, ecological, and community resources.
