Tony Zamiar:

Tony Zamiar has spent many years teaching and moving around the globe. Born in Chicago, he attended grade school there before moving to California to complete high school. Following high school, he served in the U.S. Air Force as an Electronic Communications Technician. He has lived in six different states and two foreign countries, and taught for eight years in Germany. In 1996, he graduated from Wichita State University with a BA in Elementary Education, and has since received his Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. When not working, you will probably find him outdoors, hiking, riding bicycles, swimming, golfing, gardening, or just having fun with his family.

Mrs. Sarah Stewart:

Sarah Stewart is a seventh-grade English/language arts teacher who began working at Prairie Crossing as an instructional assistant in 2013. Ms. Stewart graduated from Northwestern University with a degree in journalism and went to work as a content developer for an educational publisher and, later, as a newspaper editor in Elgin. After years writing for English teachers, and teaching young reporters to write, it finally dawned on Ms. Stewart that what she really wanted to do was to teach English and writing herself. Ms. Stewart went back to school and received her teaching certificate, with endorsements in English/language arts and social studies, from Dominican University in 2012; she currently is working on her master’s degree.

Ms. Stewart has lived in Illinois since college and now resides in Wauconda with her husband and three children. Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, gardening and traveling. She is very excited to have an opportunity to work in a school as supportive and innovative as Prairie Crossing Charter School.
