Mrs. Halvorsen

Grade: 8th - Math/Science — Room: 28

Sherry Halvorsen joined the Prairie Crossing Charter School teaching staff in 2011. Prior to being on staff, Sherry served as the chair of the PCCS Board Committee: Excellence in Academic Programs Advisory Committee(EaPac). Sherry has been happily married to Jon since 1999. They have two children, Kelsey and TJ. Both Kelsey and TJ attend PCCS. Sherry enjoys spending time with her family, running, hiking and doing yoga.

Sherry earned a bachelors degree in elementary education from Northern Illinois University. She has also earned a masters degree from National-Louis University in the area of curriculum and instruction. Sherry spent 9 years teaching a variety of math, science, and social studies courses to middle school age children, prior to coming to PCCS. She has extensive experience working one on one with students in the areas of Algebra, Geometry, and Advanced Algebra/Trigonometry.

Sherry enjoys working with middle school age children and she is very excited to teach at a school with an environmental focus.
