Melissa Plucinski has been teaching Special Education at Prairie Crossing Charter School since the fall of 2009. She graduated in 2009 from Goshen College with a BA in Elementary Education and Exceptional Learners: Mild and Moderate Disabilities. As part of her college curriculum for teachers, Melissa gained field experience in Environmental Education through the Merry Lea Environmental Learning Center in Bear Lake, Indiana. In her free time, Melissa enjoys singing and expanding her music collection, reading, camping, and traveling!
Melissa has a niece with Dyslexia, a nephew on the Autism spectrum, and a niece that loves to write and make her imagination come to life. They are some of the most vibrant and compassionate children she knows (not just because they are family), and they have inspired her to become a teacher that never stops learning new ways to teach children with varying learning differences and gifts.
