Mrs. Hauser is excited about joining the Prairie Crossing Charter School faculty this year! She has taught music, movement, and drama for 13 years in Texas, Tennessee, and Illinois. In addition to her music degree, she received all three levels of Kodaly training from Belmont University and University of North Texas, and two levels of Orff-Schulwerk Certification from University of Memphis. Along with her husband, who is also a music educator and professor of music at Concordia University in River Forest, Mrs. Hauser has coauthored and directed five children’s musicals. She is the recipient of numerous performance grants and awards, and was Teacher of the Year 2003-2004 at Una Elementary School in Nashville, Tennessee.
Mrs. Hauser loves all types of music, and thoroughly enjoys her subject area. Along with general music, she loves teaching children’s choir and show choir. Additionally, Mrs. Hauser enjoys writing and arranging music for children’s choir.
Outside of school, Mrs. Hauser enjoys making art glass, Yoga, and cardio kickboxing. She is the mother of two boys (Jackson and Micah) and two gray cats (Wolfie and Fiona). She is currently working on her graduate degree in education from Concordia University, and hopes to get her third level of Orff Certification next summer.
