Andrew Scott will begin teaching 5th and 6th grade at PCCS in 2014. He recently earned his MAT in Elementary Education with endorsements in Middle School Math and Social Sciences from National Louis University. He also holds a J.D. with a Certificate in Taxation from DePaul University College of Law and he earned his B.A. in Sociology from Tufts University. While earning his MAT, Andrew worked for The Princeton Review, helping high school students improve their test scores on the ACT and SAT. Andrew also spent two years working in undergraduate admissions for Hampshire College in Amherst, MA and Wheaton College in Norton, MA.
In the little free time that he has, Andrew enjoys reading, playing golf, cooking, and gardening. Andrew considers himself a coffee connoisseur (or snob, if you're feeling less generous) who roasts his own coffee beans to perfection. Andrew and his wife of 10 years, Payal, enjoy travelling the world, having visited over a dozen countries, including getting married in Rome, Italy.
Andrew is looking forward to continuing the work he began as a student teacher at PCCS, encouraging his students to take pride in the work they do, while never losing sight of the fact that learning can and should be fun, interesting, and exciting.
