Interscholastic Sports

General Information regarding Interscholastic Sports:

There is an athletic fee of $100 payable to PCCS Athletics prior to the first game of each season.
Each student who chooses to participate in an interscholastic sport is required to sign a Lakes Region Code of Conduct form and PCCS Eligibility of Students Commitment form.
Interscholastic sport practices are after school from 3:45 – 4:45/5:00 and it is the parent’s responsibility for providing transportation home from these practices.

PCCS currently offers the following interscholastic sports:

Co-Ed Soccer:
All 5th-8th grade students are eligible to try out.
Information regarding tryouts TBA.
Practices will be held at John Gage Park directly across the street from the school. All home games will also be played at John Gage Park.

Boys' Basketball:
All 6th-8th grade boys are eligible to try out. There are two teams: a 6th/7th grade team and an 8th grade team.

Girls' Basketball:
All 6th-8th grade girls are eligible to try out. There are two teams: a 6th/7th grade team and an 8th grade team.

Co-ed Track:
Open to all 6th-8th grade students.
PCCS currently participates in the following events: 100 M Dash, 200 M Run, 400 M Dash, 800 M Run, 1600 M Run, 400 M Relay, 800 M Relay, 1600 M Relay, 800 Medley Relay, 100 M Hurdles, Long Jump, Shot Put, and Discus.

Cheer Squad:
PCCS Cheer Squad is a relatively new extracurricular activity at Prairie Crossing. The PCCS Cheer Squad cheers for both boy's and girl's basketball seasons. Also, the team participates in one interscholastic cheer exhibition during the fall season. The girls perform both a cheer and dance routine in this competition. During the basketball games, the girls perform sideline cheers and stunts, as well as, half time performances. In addition, the concessions during the games are organized and run by the Cheer Squad.
