Michelle Stanbary started at PCCS in fall 2015 as the Music Teacher. She came to PCCS after visiting the campus, meeting some of the staff, and learning about the unique educational opportunities available here; she could immediately tell that PCCS is a special place and wanted to be a part of it. She earned her degree in Music Education from Illinois Wesleyan University in 2012. She has also worked as a band teacher, providing instruction on woodwind instruments. She grew up camping with her family and has always enjoyed the sights and sounds of the outdoors. She believes that music can be found all around us if we take the time to listen for it, and is excited to share that with her students. Ms. Stanbary’s favorite quote is, “Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent,” by Victor Hugo. The one movie she watches every time it is on, no matter how many times she’s seen it, is Apollo 13.
