Melissa Plucinski started at PCCS in 2009 as a Special Education Resource teacher. The close-knit campus and the environmental integration of curriculum stood out to her as a first year teacher. Ms. Plucinski has a B.A. from Goshen College in Elementary Education and Special Education. Currently, she is working toward a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Environmental Education. She is an Earth Day baby for good reason – a daughter and steward of the Earth! Ms. Plucinski took ownership of these roles at an early age, playing outside and going on adventures to learn more about herself and the world around her. In her teaching, she strives to keep these values in action by bringing environmental topics into reading, writing, or math activities. One interesting thing people might not know about Ms. Plucinski is that she is a soprano who enjoys singing opera and show-tunes. If Ms. Plucinski could have one super power, she would want the ability to create, control, manipulate or animate plant life, like Poison Ivy.
