Alyssa Pechter started at PCCS in 2016 as a student teacher and began working as a resource teacher in January 2017.The unique approach to education through establishing a deeper appreciation for the world around us brought her to PCCS. Ms. Pechter graduated from Illinois State University in December 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Special Education receiving her LBS1. Through taking desert hikes in Arizona growing up, she developed an appreciation for the environment from a young age. Ms/ Pechter’s appreciation for the environment expanded after exploring the unique rock formations and beautiful waterfalls at Starved Rock State Park. She has since continued her passion for hiking through exploring new state parks across the midwest. One interesting thing people might not know about Ms. Pechter is that she loves to crochet! If we’re sitting here a year from now celebrating what a great year it’s been, together PCCS has achieved three core values: accept, embrace, empower. Building a learning environment in which students of all ability areas thrive is important in order to promote acceptance through our community. It is important to embrace our differences and empower our students.
