Bill started at PCCS in 2011 as Building and Grounds Supervisor. With two children attending PCCS, he participated in several volunteer events that led to an opportunity to improve the school’s surroundings on a full-time basis. Most of his working life has involved working in the building trades-especially as a carpenter. Mr. Batz’s formal education includes a Bachelor’s from the University of Wisconsin, an Associate’s in Construction Management and a Certificate in Sustainable Design and Construction from the College of Lake County.
His role in Buildings and Grounds allows him to practice his environmental and economic sustainability beliefs which in turn help the school meet its educational mission. Mr. Batz appreciates PCCS because of its efforts to integrate an appreciation of environmental and sustainability awareness into a grade school curriculum. His favorite quote is “Sustainable development is development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.”
