Annual Fund

For the 2012/2013 school year, our Annual Fund is focused on expanding upon and enhancing our programming for environmental education and technology. Our goals are simple and driven by our mission and strategic plan. Donations will be directed towards:

• The Sustainable Schoolyard: PCCS is seeking to diversify its integrated curriculum by adding more science and math to the current environmental curriculum. With 45 raised beds on campus, our students can decide not only what they will grow but each class can determine how they would like to grow it and manipulate growing conditions as they see fit. A 30’ by 60’ greenhouse will be the campus ‘science center’ where students can go for daily lessons. They will use chemistry, economics, biology, physics, and horticulture as they operate and maintain the  ‘commercial’ fish rearing operation as well as a vegetable or plant rearing operation. • Computer Lab Technology: The incorporation of technology into the PCCS curriculum is designed to supplement, not supplant, the learning experience. With this in mind, our first goal is to update the Computer Lab with highly effective and energy-efficient equipment! NComputing, a technology breakthrough allowing high performance and quality at low cost, will set up all the Computer Lab desktops to run off of just one server. This will decrease the amount of energy used, positively impacting our environment. It will also allow us to equip our entire Computer Lab with necessary resources, including the NComputing server and a back-up, accessories, Microsoft Office licenses for all of the Lab computers, and a networked printer and supplies, for $10,000! 

At PCCS, we are fortunate to have a community who gives in many ways – through generous financial donations, vast amounts of volunteerism, energy, knowledge,  and more. All of these gifts make a tremendous impact by allowing us to continue to provide an essential and vigorous education to our students that instills in them the knowledge and the power to make a positive impact on our environment.

Many of our generous donors double or even triple their Annual Fund donations through their participation in their employers' matching gift programs.
